Waive

If you do not want the Student Health Insurance Plan, you must decline or opt-out of coverage by submitting a waiver. You may only opt-out of coverage during the following Waiver Periods:

Fall Semester: 05/15/2022 - 08/15/2022

Spring Semester: 11/15/2022 - 01/03/2023*

*open for incoming Spring admits and students currently enrolled in SHIP who would like to waive out of the Spring/Summer SHIP policy period with a comparable alternate health plan

The Spring 22-23 waiver deadline ended 01/03/2023. The waiver grace period is 01/04/2023 - 02/01/2023.

To be eligible to waive the SHIP option, Pepperdine University requires that students provide proof of a U.S. based health insurance plan equal to or better than the coverage provided by SHIP. Please be advised that the waiver request will be reviewed and verified active with the insurance carrier.

Notification of approved or denied waiver requests will be sent to students’ Pepperdine University email addresses within seven business days. Denied waiver request notifications will provide reasons for denial with appropriate steps to take to update the request if applicable.
